First, I would like to say thank you to the woman at the front desk who spoke perfect English. Not only was she kind as other reviewers said, but she had really positive energy (not faked as often seen in hotels, especially luxury ones) and that really started things off well. The hotel is a mix of Japanese ryokan (private room, shared bath etc) and western styled business hotel, catering to the budget minded or those who need a simple place to stay. Many places similar are very lax in terms of keeping things up, but this place is very clean and I can see they are doing a very good job. Additionally, the shared spaces are clean as well, a reflection also of the guests who respectfully use the property (as compared to some places which a bit of a mess because people do not know how to behave) The room itself is small, fitting a tatami and a little extra space. But it has a little refrigerator, a nice and unexpected touch. The walls and tatami floors are not amazingly clean and show a little wear from age, but as said before, this place keeps a good close eye on maintaining cleanliness. There are only three showers in the whole facility, but I used them twice and never had to wait. There is a men’s only shared sento tub that is available only certain times, but I was unable to use it in time. When I tried right before it closed, there was a slightly fat fellow in there and two of us would have been a snug fit, ha ha. I let him enjoy his solo time. I would also like to add that I found the hotel slippers (green with the “hotel lucky” logo) are nostalgic retro and super cute. I really loved them. And the price of 2000 yen for a night, what more do I have to say except…amazing, thank you, and I will come back here 200 percent when I pass through again.

I was literally lucky to get a single room here for my second trip to Osaka. I was here around mid Nov and I used it as a camp base for me to travel around Kansai area and even a day trip to Hiroshima City and Miyajima Island. Considering the location, cleanness, and quietness, the price was a steal! The place is literally right behind Doubutsuen-mae metro station exit 8 and conveniently like two minutes walk to Shinimamiya JR station Tsutenkaku exit, which is only one stop over Tennouji Station, at which Haruka Airport Train briefly stops from/to KIX. Nearby important facilities: luggage locker, coin laundry, konbinis, MEGA Donqijote (srsly shop here instead of the one in Dotonbori, will save you the hassle of crowds and long queues), Shinsekai. The staffs were also friendly and helpful and could understand my limited japanese! 日本語を少しだけ話しました本当に申し訳ありませんでした😭🙏 If I go to Osaka again in the future I’ll seriously consider staying here again.

Staff was super helpful and friendly. When they noticed I had a little trouble sleeping on the Futon, they immediately replaced it with a thicker one without me having to even ask. Has a Japanese style bath for guests to use. Very relaxing after a day of travelling. Rooms, showers, bathrooms all clean and functional. Rooms come with fridge so you can keep snacks, bento, drinks fresh for use. (You can reheat using the microwave in the lobby.) Conveniently located for shopping, going out, quick connection to Limited Express stations, Shinkansen station and Kansai airport. Very good if your intention is to explore the wider area on a tourist rail pass as I did. Price is unbeatable.

Front desk so real, so friendly, so charming. Hotel slippers so retro, so cute design. Older place, but kept very clean. Shared spaces kept clean well, and guests are respectful (no mess such as seen in many shared places, such as hostels) Private room, with a little fridge. Super close to subway station (a minute walk or less) Quiet, but when guests open and close doors, it makes a little noise. Price 2000 Yen, come on, so low, so good, what more can you ask for? Ariigatouuuuuu thank you

There are many foreigners staying there so please help to keep the toilet clean and you are not the only one staying there. There is only one cleaning lady clean the entire floor. I wish people who stay there can be more concern about cleanliness of the restrooms. The hotel is located in a perfect location with nostalgic street and many resturants. The price is affordable and can stay for many nights. There are toilets located on every floor.
